Dani Black — Guild & Co

I caught Dani Black at Guild & Co on August 25, 2025 — a warm, dimly lit night that felt small in the best way. Dani, a rising singer-songwriter from Coquitlam, played a mix of covers and originals, including the earworm Chai Tea and the delicate Pretty Boy, both of which stuck with me long after the set.

The Set & Highlights

Dani’s set moved between intimate, confessional moments and livelier, crowd-friendly numbers. The audience rewarded the quieter songs with close attention and the upbeat tunes with heads-bopping and spontaneous clapping. For anyone who loves songs that live somewhere between modern country and heartfelt pop, her originals landed with a satisfying clarity — you could tell she writes with melody-first hooks that linger.

Crowd & Vibe

Guild & Co was packed that night — fans and casuals alike filled the room, drawn in by the vibe as much as the music. There was an easy, community feel to the show: people chatted quietly between songs, sang along when they knew the words, and gathered at the merch table afterward to pick up a memento. The dim lighting made the room feel intimate and focused the attention on Dani’s performance without being overbearing.

Personal Notes

I’d first seen Dani earlier in the year (Feb 13) when she opened for Talia Duvet and left a huge fan — Chai Tea lingered in my head for days after that show, and the August set did it again. Both times I went with a friend, and both times the atmosphere made the night feel like a shared discovery: people there for the music, the vibes, and the small, human moments that live music does best.
