A DIY Operation
The Covenant Collective is a Vancouver DIY operation run by a crew of extreme-metal believers who book the shows themselves and take no sponsorship. The collective puts its work into one event, Covenant Festival, an annual multi-night black and death metal gathering at the Rickshaw Theatre on East Hastings. The bills are booked by people who are part of the scene, and the room is built to take the volume.
What That Means for Coverage
This is a low-light, high-intensity shoot, with corpse paint, strobes, and a fast-moving pit. There is no portal; access runs through the people who organize the night.
