If you were looking for hangover-style rap, then Merkules is the right artist for you.

On January 31st, 2026, the Surrey-born hip-hop artist brought his “Controlled Chaos” tour back to his home province, turning the Vogue Theatre into ground zero for local pride. He didn't come alone; he brought three amazing openers, DIZZYISDEAD, Mike Foss, and Terell Safadi, who ripped the stage up with their unique genres. These three hyped the crowd up long before Merkules even entered the equation.

His music is almost self-reflective, bringing both fire beats and emotional lyrics to the table. He is described as a local legend out here, easily selling out venues such as the Commodore and Vogue. In 2024, he opened for Snoop Dogg on his “Cali To Canada” tour. Clearly, he’s the real deal. Merkules focuses on topics that some people aren’t willing to talk about, and that's what makes him such a raw and real artist that the world lacks right now.

After the last opening act, around 9:00 PM, Merkules blessed the stage. He began the night with heavy-hitters like “Right Now” and “Yeah Yeah Yeah,” instantly bringing energy and emotion to the Vogue. The intimacy within the theatre amplified the connection he had with his fans, keeping the energy high until the final beat dropped.

The lighting in the Vogue was bright and intimate all at once, flashing blues and greens throughout the venue, illuminating the fans as much as the artist. His lyrics were fast and real, coming at you with no warning and leaving you nearly speechless, paired with beats that rang across the venue and drew in new fans from the street outside.

The crowd itself was rowdy. I found myself fighting to get to the front as people jumped around me, shaking the floor. Fans from everywhere came together to support him, and they definitely did that and then some. I heard fans yelling out lyrics and saw people with their arms up, taking every last moment in, a testament to his fans' dedication and how supportive his community in British Columbia really is.

The venue was nearly a sellout, with fans from all corners of the province coming together to listen to the BC-born star. At the end of the night, Merkules took a second to thank everyone for coming to the show; being in his home province, he was visibly grateful to his supporting community at home.

Overall, the show was a hit with an even blend of emotion-filled lyrics and upbeat rhythms. Merkules really tore the Vogue up on his “Controlled Chaos” tour and left everyone in the theatre buzzing from the emotional nature of his music.
