On November 8, 2025, Vancouver packed into the Fox Cabaret to see Mikayla Geier — a BC baby returning home as part of her Diva tour. The show was sold out, produced by Timbre Concerts, and felt like a warm, theatrical homecoming: playful staging, bright energy, and a room full of people who came ready to sing along.
DACEY (@daceytheband) opened with an upbeat, heartfelt set of indie-pop — tight harmonies and punchy hooks that got the room smiling and moving. Their set was a perfect palette-cleanser that primed the crowd for Mikayla’s theatrical headlining performance.
Mikayla leaned into the Diva concept with a tongue-in-cheek theatricality that never felt forced. Between songs she played with the crowd, teased arrangements from her new album Hot Pot, and treated the audience to a handful of elaborate moments — including giving away custom fortune cookies whose fates cheekily referenced the song “Dive”. The fortune-cookie bit was pure theatre-meets-fan-service: small, memorable, and perfectly on brand.
She closed the night with a delicate, stirring performance of “Piano in the Sky” — one of my favourite tracks from Hot Pot — and the moment felt like the emotional peak: the whole room hushed and then lifted together. During the show, a guest surprised her with a fake “DIVA” cake.

The merch table was buzzing; Mikayla stayed after the show at the merch booth to say hi and chat with fans — an incredibly genuine, generous move that left a lot of people glowing.
